God isn’t being slow about his coming judgment, as some people ridicule. No, God is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed in Hell, but wants everyone to repent and be converted through His Son Jesus Christ.
But for unbelievers, the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will dissappear with a terrible blast, and the very elements will melt with intense heat, and the earth and everything on it will be laid desolate in judgment.
Since everything is to be destroyed, what kind of people ought you to be in the meantime that sets you apart as a true believer, displaying profound reverence toward our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? 2 Perter 3:9-11
