As a spiritually born-again believer you won't spend the rest of your lives chasing your past lust and desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You will have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy--their immorality and lust to have more, feasting their eyes on everything, their drunkenness and parties that worship themselves and other people as idols. So of course, your former friends and family are surprised when you no longer plunge into the same flood of wicked conversations and worldly living they practice even on holy days. And so they will slander you behind your back. But remember that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead.
