(7/24/14) Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. And if you only do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you, this is what sinners do. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Heavenly Father is merciful.

Even though we who are “born again” know better, there is always the temptation to withhold the love of Holy Spirit inside us and retaliate in our dead nature “the flesh”. All because we have been hurt so little when by comparison Christ suffered terribly for us all while we were yet unsaved sinners. We are to be faithful followers and ambassadors of Christ. Whatever injuries we suffer as a result of our duty to share Christ in love, God is faithful to heal every hurt and reward us generously here and in heaven. Otherwise we miss out completely and our reward is only the bruising of our own egos here on this dieing world which awaits judgment.
